With a quorum of Council being present, the Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

The Mayor recited the Land Acknowledgement.

The council observed a moment of silent reflection.

The Mayor reminded members of Council of their obligation to declare any pecuniary interest they might have. None were declared.

    That the report, April 19, 2022, regarding Warsaw Community Centre - Chiller Failure, Recreation Facilities, 2022-03 -  be received; and

    That Council agrees to pay the insurance deductible of $10,000.00 and proceed to have the Warsaw Community Centre shell and tube chiller replaced.

    That Council approve the additional funds in the amount of $8500 from Working Funds Reserve to purchase three additional sets of bunker gear.

    That the report, dated April 19, 2022, regarding the various pieces of land that the Township leases out be received, that the leases for Harry Ellis, the Knox Family Trust, Peter Milne and the Stoney Lake Market all be extended for a one-year term with the same conditions that currently exist and that staff be directed to prepare and execute the agreements under the Delegation of Authority By-law.

    A By-law 2022-19, being a By-law to amend the User fees By-law 2021-76 for the Township of Douro-Dummer be passed as amended, in open Council this 19th day of April, 2022 and that the Mayor and the Acting Clerk be directed to sign same and affix the Corporate Seal thereto.

    Whereas,  Many communities in our region have undertaken significant improvement projects at their arenas in recent years; and

    Whereas, Provincial and Federal funding programs often require that capital projects are shovel-ready; and

    Whereas, the property at the Douro Community Centre can accommodate future growth and expansion; and

    Whereas Douro Minor Hockey is a strong organization that has provided healthy recreation opportunities for children and youth for generations;

    Therefore be it resolved that a working group be established comprising of staff, a member of Council and representatives from Douro Minor Hockey to explore the options outlined in the letter.
